Convert mountain bike to electric 

Fotona Mobility presents this bike motor kit with great features and at a much lower price than an e-bike with similar technical features. The purchase of this product allows you to convert any mountain bike into an electric MTB with all the necessary components to enjoy any route with less physical effort.

E-BIKE kit components: 

1x Kit brushless motor: Hub motor with a rated power of 250W and limited to 25 km/h in compliance with current EU regulations. The motor can be placed on the front or rear wheel and is attached to a rim compatible with your bike. Handbike and trike kits only offer a front hub motor option.

1x Lithium-ion battery electric kit: 36V Lithium-ion battery. Each battery is made to order to guarantee optimum performance. You can choose between several battery formats and capacities (Wh) according to the morphology of your cycle and your autonomy needs.

The advanced electric mountain bike kit is available with two types of batteries:

  Rigid Triangle:     Nylon Triangle: 

1X 15A FOC (Field Oriented Control) Controller: High-end controller offers a number of advantages over the square/modified wave controllers sold with other kits or electric bikes, including:

1) Less noise and heat. 

2) Better control of the level of assistance, making it more progressive and protecting the motor.

3) Greater efficiency on hills at low assistance levels. 

In kits with grill or box type batteries, the controller is located in the base of the battery itself, which is fixed to the frame. In kits with a bottle or triangle type battery, the controller is located in a PVC box with clamps that is attached to the frame of your bike.

1x Electric Bike Display: Two display options to select from:

Option 1) LCD OMT-M3. You have the option of purchasing it with or without LED spotlight. 

The LCD display works as a control unit that controls several management options of the kit:

  • Level of assistance. There are 3 levels.
  • Speed in km/h
  • Total distance travelled
  • Partial distance travelled
  • Battery charge level

Option 2) LCD CENTRAL S830 comes with integrated USB and as an option you can purchase it with or without spotlight.

Furthermore, both models offer the option to include a front LED light - which is controlled from the display itself - to complement the capabilities of your kit.

1x Bicycle wheel with motor: Made of chromed aluminum, you can choose the wheel with a motor from the drop-down menu. To do this, you need to know the size of your wheel. If you are unsure, you can consult the wheel equivalence table.

1 x PAS Sensor (Pedal Assist Sensor): The purpose of this component is to activate the motor assistance when pedaling. Choose from 3 available models according to the type of bottom bracket axis on your bike. (*)

1 x Brake Sensor with Electric Cut-off: This component ensures that every time you engage the brakes on your bike, the electric supply to the motor is immediately cut off, preventing any damage. Choose from 2 formats according to your bicycle's braking system. (**)

1 x Freewheel-Type Threaded Pinions (Optional): In the case of choosing a kit with a hub motor in the rear wheel, and if your original bike does not have threaded pinions, you will need to adapt compatible pinions, which you can purchase together with your conversion kit.

Electric Bike Kit Warranty

Maximum speed. In compliance with the applicable European regulations for electric bicycles with pedal assist, our kits are limited to a maximum speed of 25 km/h. Failures resulting from the modification of the maximum speed parameter by the user will not be covered by the kit warranty, so in order to ensure safe use, it is not recommended to manipulate the factory settings of the kit.

Type of use. This kit is not suitable for extensive use in areas with steep slopes such as mountain passes and slopes over 300 meters. Failures resulting from this type of use will not be covered by the product warranty. On moderate urban slopes and inclines, it is recommended not to exceed level 2 of assistance and to complement the use of the motor kit with appropriate pedaling effort to avoid overstraining the motor at all times.

Battery autonomy. Fotona Mobility guarantees that the technical data of the battery (Voltage, Ah, Wh) shown in this product sheet are real and offers a 3-year warranty against manufacturing defects in Spain. The autonomy data (km) listed in each battery option are estimates based on moderate use and our own experience, as they depend on at least three factors: 1) User weight 2) Terrain slope, and especially 3) the selected level of assistance. For greater autonomy and battery life, it is recommended to use a moderate level of assistance and recharge the battery after each use.
